Kelowna General Hospital Pediatric Services Fully Restored

Interior Health has announced that general pediatric services at Kelowna General Hospital (KGH) are now fully operational. As of August 15, the pediatric inpatient unit and related services across the site are providing full day and night coverage for all pediatric patients requiring the care of a pediatrician. 

Three new pediatricians are joining the KGH team between now and early September, with a fourth expected in November. Recruitment remains a key priority to maintain long-term stability within the department. 

In addition, one associate physician joined the pediatric unit in early July, with another set to begin in September. These new additions, combined with the dedication of existing pediatric medical staff who have sustained care during a challenging period, will ensure consistent, high-quality pediatric coverage for patients and families in the region.
