Welcoming Our New Board Members: Dr. Toye Oyelese and Dr. Rob Williams

We are delighted to announce the acclamation of two new individuals to the Board of Directors of the Central Okanagan Division of Family Practice: Drs. Toye Oyelese and Rob Williams. Nominated for the two vacant seats, both will officially join the board at our Annual General Meeting on September 9th, bringing a wealth of experience, leadership, and passion for primary care to our organization.

Dr. Toye Oyelese

Dr. Oyelese is a full-time family physician in West Kelowna, where he leads a multi-physician practice focused on comprehensive, longitudinal care. He is a clinical associate professor at UBC’s Faculty of Medicine and has served on numerous provincial and national medical boards, including BC Family Doctors, Black Physicians of BC, and the BC College of Family Physicians. His committee work spans finance, nominations, and diversity and inclusion, and he was a Councilor with the Canadian Medical Protective Association until March 2025.

Dr. Oyelese is passionate about medical education and equity in healthcare, and he brings a strong voice for relationship-based care to the board.

Dr. Rob Williams

Dr. Williams is a dedicated family physician with a focus on long-term care. He serves as the Rota physician for Three Links Manor and David Lloyd Jones Home, providing consistent, compassionate care to residents in both facilities. From 2024-2025, he served as the Long-Term Care Initiative Physician Lead, where he championed improvements in care coordination and physician engagement across the sector.

Dr. Williams brings valuable insight into elder care and system-level collaboration, and his leadership will help guide the Division’s efforts to support physicians working in complex care environments.

Please join us in welcoming Dr. Oyelese and Dr. Rob Williams to the board. We look forward to the insights, energy, and dedication they will bring to our shared work in advancing family practice in the Central Okanagan.
