Updated LFP Payment Schedule – Effective July 1, 2025

A new payment schedule has been released, effective July 1, 2025. Developed by Doctors of BC and BC Family Doctors in collaboration with the Ministry of Health, these updates are designed to address physician feedback and improve the Longitudinal Family Physician (LFP) Payment Model’s implementation.

Key updates include:

  • Extension of the Transition Code (98001) and Transition Form process until March 31, 2026. This allows physicians to identify if more than 30% of their clinic-based care will be provided to non-panel patients during their transition to meet payment model requirements.

  • Family physicians who still require an exception in 2026 will need to resubmit the Transition Code and Transition Form between January 1 and March 31, 2026

  • Clarifications to Hospital at Home billing under fee-for-service (see BC Family Doctors’ news article — member login required).

  • Removal of FPSC network fee codes (14086, 14010) — these are now claimed annually through an FPSC claim form (see information on the Assigned Inpatient Care Network Payment and Maternity Care Network Payment).

We recommend reviewing the updated payment schedule in its entirety to ensure accurate billing. BC Family Doctors’ web resources, including the Simplified LFP Guide, have been updated to reflect these changes.
